1994 and the graphics are like years ahead of the time , these are like Gran turismo graphics and that game did not come out until a few years later in 97

At the very least it started the saga of great games. But honestly, in the modern age and day, you shouldn't be wasting your time playing this if you do, OR claiming that it's the "best" NFS game of all.

Wow I could go so much faster on the first straight. I remember trying to reach topspeed and always reaching just 201 mph uphill in the corner. Time to find my old copy of the game again I guess

There is something oddly appealing to those pixelated graphics, especially nowadays. I still remember that Alpine map - so nostalgic!

I'm 9 years old, sitting in my friends basement. We just got this for ps1, and he tells me, "you can sit in the driver's seat on this game, I just don't know how to move the camera". I can remember playing for what seemed like hours before we finally figured it out. I was mind blown that we had this, in our house, and not in an arcade. I think this is what got me into SIM racing/auto racing, maybe 50% this and 50% gran turismo 1.

In my head canon this song plays on the night a war starts. Paratroopers are taking off in their planes, helicopters are spinning up, riggers are loading weapons up onto combat aircraft. The key change and bass comes in as naval ships and submarines launch their cruise missiles, SAMs flare into the sky and the shooting starts. Still an evocative track after all these years

I remember playing this at Best Buy which I think was on their demo 3DO. I never would have guessed it would have gotten to where it is today

looking at it now, no wonder i loved it so much. It looks a bit like outrun. I really loved this game! So many hours spent!

Alaways used to grab the handbrake going over the finish line for the best stacks.
